We source our super, smoothing Community Trade organic olive oil from a co-operative of family farmers in Cilento, south west Italy. The farmers catch the falling olives in nets to prevent the olives bruising, and cold press the flesh. Producing olive oil in southern Italy isn’t new. Some of the expert farmers that grow our organic olives have trees hundreds of years old.
DID YOU KNOW? Our trade with the Nuovo Cilento Co-operative has helped turn the fortunes around for 250 farmers, once under thread from cheaper foreign oils. The process helps to regenerate the area too.
